Just Commons Part 3: Back to the Fact It's a Throwback and I Know That

The different-colored parallels you can find in WalMart, Target, and Toys R Us packs aren't the only exclusives retail flagship product has. Topps has frequently put different insert sets that are exclusive to the retail packs, or even exclusive to certain retail locations! Toys R Us had an insert set that I had a really hard time finding in 2011.
These cards are from the Trading Card History set issued in 2008. Actually, it's not a retail exclusive. Part of the set is a hobby exclusive. Cards 1-25 were issued in Series 1, and 51-75 in Series 2. The middle portion of the set were available from HTA stores in little packs.

Topps must have gone back through some of its throwback layout templates from pre-war issues, plus some of their own issues. I'm sure it takes the designers all of 10 seconds now to make a throwback card. Just insert photo, run it through a filter, and toss some text in the appropriate places.
While many of the designs are recycled from other Topps throwback sets, there are some unique throwback card designs here that will probably never become their own throwback sets. And that's why I'm putting it together. As of this writing, I'm down to needing six cards: 5, 6, 7, 8, 17, and 18, all from the first series.
