Different from the usual winning game cards the Giants (and other teams) issue throughout the year, this set is sponsored by Adidas and utilizes a retro design. I like the simple design but I don't care for the use of apparently 8 different fonts outside of the Giants/Adidas logo. These cards are super-thick, like the dummy cards inserted into packs of Panini products, or the thick Bowman cards from a few years ago (I don't think they still do those...).
The backs have a game summary. Manny Acosta played in this game, pitching one inning, giving up one hit and striking out a batter, but the decision went to a different pitcher, so Acosta must be shown only because the victory number is the same as his jersey number.
Adidas is the sponsor for Giants clothing merchandise. The link at the bottom of the card back links to game-style jerseys and other goods made by the company, but I couldn't find any mention of the cards.
I'm not sure how many cards were actually issued; perhaps only one card was issued for each player and they're matched to the season's victory number - the Giants had 84 wins last year. There are 0 and 00 jersey numbers and some players with jersey numbers in the 90s, though. Were 84 cards issued and matched to player jersey numbers when they could be? Unfortunately I only have this single example. If I see any more, I'll try to compare.
