Calbee Series 3: A quick one while he's away

Calbee Series 3 chips have been on shelves for a little while now, but I haven't really picked any up. The final series of the 2012 release basically continues the base set and most of the insert sets found in the first two series. I'm not trying to put the set together, though of course I've collected the cards for my type collection.
Orange is a fitting color for fall, especially with the Yomiuri Giants blowing away the rest of the Central League. It's kind of strange to see on a bag of "plain" potato chips though, as the color just instantly reminds me of cheese-flavored Doritos. I grabbed this bag Friday night on a quick run to the grocery store. And I mean quick; I got there as quick as possible after work, at 9:45, and they close at 9:50 (huh?!).
As always, the cards hide on the back. Two cards are in each pack. Series 3 has another 72 cards. There are 22 All Star insert cards, 12 reprinted Memorial cards (continuation), four checklists (continuation), and 24 StarCards (continuation). It seems that StarCards this year are issued in blue and green versions, with a holo-foil parallel. I don't know for sure though I haven't done much research.
This pack was fairly dull, with just a couple base cards. Looking at the backs, it seems that the first-half stats for 2012 (through June) are included, along with some highlights from the first three months of the season.

Because most of the insert sets are continuations from the other series, I only needed an All-Star card. I didn't get it here, but that's fine because I picked it up a few weeks ago at a card shop. I'll be telling you about that soon. Until then, this post is just a quick one while he's away.

  1. Awesome Who cover! I was amused that they even did the "cello cello cello cello cello" part.

  2. I was going to use an original performance but I really liked this cover. I'm continuing to be impressed by My Morning Jacket. I may have to actually get some of their music...
