Who Should Be in Americana?

Recently, the question of who should appear in a Panini Americana set has been posed. And while Panini themselves never asked me personally, I'm always glad to chime in about my opinion. While some of the people below might have appeared in other Americana or pop culture sets this is my perfect set. It's packed with superstars but there are some smaller "minor" celebrities who I feel deserve a card - and who I'd be happy to get a hit of.

So, without further annoying commentary, I give you my Americana checklist. 162 cards, so it'll fit evenly in 9-pocket pages.

  1. Replies
    1. I avoided, for the most part, anyone in politics though I've considered that would be great as inserts or subsets.

  2. Oh, myyyyyyyyyyyy... (Said in his best George Takei impersonation... Hey, add George Takei to the set).

I didn't expect anyone to take it to this level, but I like it!

...But I feel like you've raised the stakes and now I need to see your bet. I might just have to create my own checklist... Steve Martin, Jane Lynch, James Spader, Shawn Colvin, Weird Al, Fred Savage, the woman who plays Fred Savage's wife on "The Grinder"...

    1. Lots of great names there - Takei should have been on mine; Weird Al, Steve Martin, and Fred Savage would have been welcome in my set too.

  3. Fred Savage needs to have an autograph in the set too.

Olivia D'Abo has multiple autographs, Jason Hervey has an autograph in a WCW release (He was a producer) and even Danica McKeller has an autograph in The Big Bang Theory release. Only Fred Savage is missing, and if there is room Josh Saviano too. There needs to be a Wonder Years set to get them all together in one release.

    1. Lots of great series would probably be successful as a one-off retrospective card set! Or movies, for that matter...

  4. I'd go for a Zooey Deschanel card.

    1. I keep hoping she actually pops up in a real set. I'd be all over an autograph or relic.
